How do I know if I am ready for therapy?
There is no perfect time to begin your therapy journey. Therapy is a journey of self discovery, which can begin at any point of life. Clients will find the most value in therapy when they are ready to be honest with their struggles and be open to change.

What can I expect in my first session?
In your first session you will meet me, your therapist. I hope to provide a welcoming and comfortable environment. We will review your intake form and explore your current difficulties. We will also discuss therapy goals and treatment options. Since I offer virtual services, you will have freedom to remain comfortable in your own home.

What can I expect after my first session?
Following your first session, you will likely feel lighter, supported and hopeful for the future. Prior to beginning therapy you had been carrying the weight of your struggles alone, but you won’t have to do that any more. You may feel some fatigue, as facing emotions is hard work. It is important to be kind to yourself. I will be there to support you in your journey.

Is virtual therapy as effective as in person therapy?
Since the therapy experience is so different from client to client, there is no one method of therapy that is more effective. Ultimately, it comes down to preference. The most effective therapy is one that makes you feel comfortable and supported.

How long will it take to see progress?
Therapy is subjective, therefore there is not set duration of time that will guarantee specific results. Progress in therapy is best measured on an individual basis, with clear therapy goals. Therapy tools are built in session and practiced out of session in everyday life. The real progress happens when clients are prepared to commit to challenging, but meaningful changes.

Which treatment option is best for me?
Therapy treatment options are explored on a client-by-client basis. Common treatment options are CBT, ACT, and DBT which aim to build skills in the areas of cognitive reframing and emotional understanding. I will explore options with you and we will collaborate to select what treatment will be most effective for you specifically.

How do I pay for sessions?
Upon booking your session, I will provide an invoice for service. Payment must be made prior to beginning the session. I will provide a receipt following payment, which you can provide to your insurance provider for reimbursement.
